Elisa Tyler-Co Founder/Executive Director
Hardworking, empathetic, and determined are just a few adjectives that describe the qualities of Ms. Elisa Tyler, MSW. Elisa, being the oldest of four siblings in a single parent household,
strives to be a role model and a leader. After graduating from Western High School, Baltimore, MD in 2005, Elisa enrolled at Coppin State University. She joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in 2007 and earned her Bachelor’s of Social Work in 2009. Discovering her passion for providing services to the community and youth, Elisa continued her graduate education at the University of Maryland of Baltimore where she earned her Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Children’s, Family and Adolescents.
Following the advice and guidance given by her mother; Ms. Tyler co-founded Diamonds On The Rise Inc. in 2009. Diamonds On The Rise is a youth development organization that provides enrichment programs and services for youth and young adults to continue to climb the ladder for success.
Recognized as one of the “Top 30 under 30” by 92Q in 2013, Ms. Tyler has extensive work experience in the mental health field, specializing in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Management. With her education and field work experience, she understands how one’s community can have an impact on their everyday life. Elisa has also received awards from Baltimore City Mayors Office, Baltimore City Youth Works Division, and local human service agencies that recognize her outstanding work with youth in the community .
In 2013, Ms. Tyler published a children’s book, “Little Julian & His Toy Cars” based on the imagination of her son. In 2014, launched Diamonds and Gems Boutique, an online clothing and accessory store for youth. Both the book and boutique serve as fundraisers for Diamonds On The Rise. Fundamentally, Ms. Tyler is a philanthropist who centers her life around giving back to her community.
Renee Alderman is a resilient and multi-talented member of Diamonds On The Rise. She is certified as a Maryland Education Teacher and licensed in Cosmetology/Nail Tech. At a young age she was coined with the nickname, the "Queen Of All Trades". An active administrator at DOTR, Renee is known for her colorful personality, which is often demonstrated through her passion for the arts. With a background in Child Care and Education, Ms. Alderman is well-versed in the needs of inner city youth. She is more than a business woman; she is a mother of four who seeks to improve the lives of all children.
Nicole Green-Vice President
Nicole Green earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD. She took courses in Juvenile Education and was an active member in her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta. As she worked full-time with the MD State Department of Education, she became more focused on the achievements, success, and outcomes of education for students throughout the state. With continued support from her mother, having past experience and strong interest in students with disabilities, Nicole continued her education, earning her Masters of Education- Teaching & Learning Special Education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
She interned through the Baltimore City Public Schools and currently continues to help with outreach and mentoring through non- profit organizations to serve her purpose with youth and young adults.
Theresa Berrien has over a decade of experience in Mortgage Loan Servicing. Understanding the financial operation requirements of both small and large businesses, Ms. Berrien is a great asset to herself and those around her. Along with her consistent business minded spirit, Ms. Berrien is kind hearted and caring. Knowing the need for adolescents to plan for their future, she provides guidance and leadership for financial independence and stability.
Cierra Sanders is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate. Currently pursing her MBA, she is striving towards her dream of having her own design label. Ms. Sanders is known as a leader and advocate, with her involvement as a "big sister" to female adolescents. She knows and understands the struggles among urban neighborhoods, and strives to give back to her community.
